The new-for-2013 Formula Renault 1.6 NEC Junior will visit five classic venues in its first season next year.

The series will start at Hockenheim in April, the first of three rounds supporting its older brother, the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC. The championship will then visit Zandvoort, Spa-Francorchamps, Assen and Zolder before returning to Zandvoort for the finale.

Formula Renault 1.6 NEC Junior has been set up as a new entry-level single-seater championship, providing a step between karting and Formula Renault 2.0 with a car similar to the one used in the French F4 Championship.
