Hilmer Motorsport to run Dillmann and Varhaug at Jerez test

by Stephen Goddard

New GP2 Series squad Hilmer Motorsport will run Tom Dillmann and Pal Varhaug at the Jerez test this week.

23-year-old Frenchman Dillmann, who recently tested with ISR in Formula Renault 3.5, returns to the series after only completing a partial campaign last season with Rapax. He finished 15th in the standings and took his maiden win at Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Varhaug spent last season racing in the Auto GP World Series with Virtuosi UK, taking three wins on his way to second in the championship. The 22-year-old Norwegian returns to the championship where he raced in 2011 with DAMS, scoring a best result of 8th at Barcelona.

The German Hilmer outfit replaced Ocean Racing Technology early last month and has yet to announce any drivers for the championship. GP2 is set for three days of testing at Jerez from tomorrow.
