Max Defourny bounced back from missing most of last week’s final Eurocup Formula Renault pre-season testing at Aragon to lead practice ahead of the opening round at the same circuit.

Restricted to just four laps last week due to neck pain, the Belgian – who dominated previous?official tests at Aragon in November and February – fell just 0.03s shy of fellow second-year FR2.0?racer?Jehan Daruvala?in the morning, then was a tenth quicker than?Lando Norris in the quicker afternoon session.

The R-ace GP driver said: “It looks promising, although after my contracture of the neck last week, it still pulls, mostly in turn 10. It was getting worse throughout the session, so we?ll see how it goes in the race.”

Josef Kaufmann Racing pair Norris and Daruvala ended the day second and third overall ahead of AVF’s Harrison Scott.

Defourny’s team-mates?Julien Falchero and? Will Palmer were fifth and eighth, split by Tech 1’s?Dorian Boccolacci and third JKR driver?Robert Shwartzman.?Gabriel Aubry and?Henrique Chaves completed the top 10 for the day.
