Patricio O’Ward was victorious in the first Pro Mazda race of the 2016 season at St. Petersburg.
The Mexican, only signed up for the first two rounds so far, had a storming start to the race, building a lead of 1.4s in just one lap.
He controlled the gap for the rest of the race to win ahead of top rookie Aaron Telitz.
The Pelfrey duo dominated the race with third-placed Jake Eidson finishing 9.6s behind.
2015 USF2000 champion Nico Jamin took fourth, having failed to overtake Eidson despite putting pressure on him in the early stages.
Weiron Tan completed the top five, which saw no change compared to the racing order.
Garett Grist gained two spots at the start to end up as the top Juncos driver as his teammates fell behind JDC MotorSports entrant Jorge Cevallos.
Australian Jake Parsons kept Will Owen at bay to secure eighth with Argentinian Nicolas Dapero completing the top 10.
