The British-based Protyre Formula Renault series has announced a spiritual successor to the Formula Renault BARC Winter Series, scheduled to take place at Rockingham on 16-17th of November.

The Autumn Cup will be run over four races – two on Saturday and two on Sunday – with a qualifying session to boot for each day. The organizers have announced their intention to have a separate class for older-spec Tatuus FR2.0 cars alongside the main Protyre machinery.

Chief championship promoter Simon North stated: “We?re very happy to confirm a four round Autumn Cup, running the entire event across just one weekend makes it much more cost-effective for the teams and drivers and we?re hopeful of seeing a healthy line-up. We?re offering a lot of track time, which is so important for drivers who may be considering racing in Protyre Formula Renault next year. The schedule we?ve created, with one qualifying session each day, seems to be very popular with the teams.”

The Autumn Cup’s predecessor, Formula Renault BARC Winter Series, has featured such champions as GP3 racer Josh Webster and BRDC F4 title contender Seb Morris over its five-year history.
